"Masaan"

Masaan,a debut direction by Neeraj Ghaywan is outstanding work showcasing various emotions, Ranging from fear, despair, hope, faith, disappointments and loses. The movie brilliantly portrays
two parallel stories digging the brutal truths of Indian society like caste divides, financial grievance, corrupt law workers and sexual hardships.

The first story is of a young girl 'Devi' , beginning in despair, whose sexual rendezvous with a college boy went extremely wrong. While the boy commits suicide, Devi and her father had to suffer from the bad of a money-minded police officer who offers to dismiss the case against heavy bribe. The story revolves round her hardships and her constant battle to survive in this immoral society.

Other parallel story portrays a star-crossed romance between 'Shaalu'  and 'Deepak' , while Shaalu was an aristocrat, Deepak was a dalit cremator. Starting with the innocence of juvenile love, thet tables turn, when Shaalu meets with a fatal accident, pushing down Deepak into despair.

The movie set us to re-think the about the boundaries in the name of tradition and culture we created for the youth of the country. We live in a country where love, is but a crime, constantly endeavoring to set everyone in vain and despair.

Masaan perfectly captures the journey of two tragedy-struck souls that comes to a beautiful concluding scene that manifests retrieval always comes, which may be bit difficult but never too far. Also, apart from the amazing direction, overwhelming story and outstanding acting it contains a soul- stirring and soothing song, which when added together makes this an outstanding movie worth a watch.

Kanti shah's Gunda isn't just another movie but an amazing cult-film (enjoyed by small, yet loyal group) of India. "Raanjhanaa"

This is a remarkable romantic film depicting the story of one of the thousands juvenile love stories incubating in the streets of 'Banaras' . The protagonist of the film being 'Dhanush' (as Kundan) and 'Sonam Kapoor'  (as Zoya) were fabulous in their efforts. Dhanush as Kundan is simply outstanding. It's always difficult for a South Indian actor to act in Bollywood and speak faultless hindi and this proves that he is a flawless actor. Brilliant will be an underrated term to describe his acting! He makes you laugh, cry, fall in love, feel the pain all at once; above all, in a language which isn’t his mother tongue. Cinematography is eyecatching , especially the beautiful scenes of Banaras! "Get out"

A horror movie, written and directed by 'Jordan Peele' , and produced by 'BlumHouse productions' . It is starred by 'Daniel Kaluuya(Chris)'  and 'Allison Williams(Rose)' . The director made his debut with this film which is based on the issue of race. Chris, (the black man) was invited by Rose Armitage, (his white girlfriend) to her parents. Rose has a normal family which constituted of Rose’s Mom-Missy, her Dad-Dean and her brother-Jeremy who seemed to be layered up in lies. It becomes obvious to Chris when he talks to the black groundskeeper and housekeeper that they are all hiding something. Chris goes on to unveil it and ends up getting trapped into the great horrifying mystery of the Armitages family. When the movie reaches its end revealing the family's truth,  you realize and come to appreciate the genius mind of the director.
